Yes, I agree with you and I blame on entire of the congress for mess because they failed to prevent the sequestration from happening.

Well, not just Obama only, same goes with the congress.

Permanent underclass - not happen. Have you seen about republican's mess that caused Great Depression and they able to recover from huge loss so became majority in 1950's. Democrats had bad midterm year in 2010 but some improved from general election in 2012.

I think that sequestration will cause some damage to both parties - not very huge event, though.

Well, the rumor is the furlough days are being cut down to 5-7. I wouldn't be surprised if they keep getting reduced and pushed back until they don't happen.

A fed employee told me yesterday they will only have 2 furlough days. Can anyone confirm?

Depends on what department the person works for. There is this article about a potential further reduction or full cancellation of furloughs for DoD employees.
