I go by there quite a bit, but it seems like every time I try to go by and eat....they're closed. Bad timing on my part.

I have a couple of questions about a particular chain of steak house restaurants, if I may.

In 1986, I spent a month in Huntsville on business. While there, I went to a steak house called Quincy's. I went more than once, and thought that it was about the best that I'd been to of those kind of restaurants .

Are they still in business? In what region are/were they located? I haven't seen them anywhere else.

Thank you.

They went out around 10-12 years ago. I can't really remember if they were bought out or what, but I remember some of my friends that worked there went to Barnhill's after that. I really enjoyed the food...until I worked there for a while Senior Year of High School.....

Yeah Quincy's was great or so it seemed at the time, great yeast rolls and steaks. It was chain, had 3-4 locations in Huntsville. It was basically located in the south and there actually may be several still around in the Carolina's.

Fond memories of Quincy's from when I was a kid. I remember the rolls!

The remaining locations were turned into Barnhills. Then 3 became Chinese Buffet places and one recently turned into a Drive Time Used car place.

Quincy's went out of business YEARS ago. There were locations all over North AL.....the Gadsden one (by Gadsden Regional) closed when I was in college in the mid 90's. Western Sizzlin is still open in some places, I believe.....I think there is one in Gadsden that is still open but I haven't been there in probably 20 years.

Those yeast rolls were awesome!

Oh man, Quincy's had the BEST yeast rolls. Logan's comes close though. They also had the best chicken fingers. (yeah, yeah, I know - I grew up when Quincy's was still around). The texture of the breading was perfect, something I've never seen replicated at any other place I've eaten (not that I get chicken fingers much anymore).

There is still a Quincy's in Toccoa, GA http://goo.gl/maps/rsQzK Ate there a few years ago. Yeast rolls were still 10/10, chicken finger recipe had changed, and the steak gave my mother food poisoning!
