For anyone that knows of any HVAC techs or people who work in HVAC, could you tell me if it's a good career if one is looking to move here (or the South)? I, of course, don't want to scrape the barrel, and just overall want a nice comfortable life to live, especially if I want a family in the future. Another thing I have to ask is, how is the weather? Being from Fairfield County (Stamford) the weather could be really hot... or feel like it with the oppressing humidity or really cold. I want a hot place, but not overbearingly hot either with a smack load of humidity (~85%+) like up here.

thanks

Oh it's hot and humid here. It is right now infact.

I believe an HVAC tech would do well here. I had a friend who owned his own HVAC company, he very much enjoyed his job. He may have retired by now, but he did well for the decades he did it.

I have always wanted to take classes and become an HVAC tech, just to have the certification and the skills, but I doubt I will ever get around to it...

But yes, lots of business, lots of companies in the area and LOTS of work!

I think it would be a slam dunk.

Oh and it never gets very cold. In fact I had my AC on in December this past year.

Oh yeah? I want to become a commercial hvac tech with the hopes of someday opening my own shop when I have more experience down the road. I think the humidity is relative because on weather.com the humidity in Huntsville reads mid 50s and up here its in the 70s -_-. Quite honestly, I can deal with heat but the humidity is killer. Thanks for your reply

The dew point is the same, but Huntsville is 15 degrees hotter! I'll take CT over ALs weather right now
