We got a hanger on our door from WOW stating that they were going to be running lines in the easements. For those of you who have had this done recently (I couldn't find the thread where it was discussed) how long did it take from rollout to service availability?

We received the same thing Wednesday. When we first moved into the neighborhood it was several months later that Mediacom decided to wire the neighborhood. If it's any indication it took them around a month to bury the lines, setup the outside boxes and connect our house for internet.

I had gotten the same. But sadyly, I heard WoW is absolutely behind the times still compared to all the other cable providers.

Can't be any worse than Mediacom. We have a filing cabinet full of email conversations and complaints with them. Sadly in our part of town they are our only option. I'd love to have more options.

What area of HSV/Madison is WOW rolling out? Maybe we will get lucky soon. They just rolled out two neighborhoods behind ours.

We are in HSV/Limestone CO.

If you already have Mediacom then it is unlikely WOW would be rolling out services. Most areas have agreements between the cable company and the municipality.

I'm quite happy with DirecTV, so I don't care about video. I would expect, however, their internet options will be better than DSL.

Wow has great internet. We've been extremely happy with them. Just get your own modem, don't lease the one they provide, its crap.

Unless you're using a VOIP one that was provided by Knology originally.

Agreed. The supplied modem works nicely for general internet usage. People and their high falutin ways.....
