Hi all, I am fairly new to Huntsville and would like to know if anyone sells fresh boiled peanuts. Thanks!

Did I meet you at the food truck event downtown? I was wearing a boiled peanut t-shirt.

The gas station at Wall Triana and 72 has them. There is a produce stand in Athens on 72 that sometimes has them as well. Please post any others you find. I usually make my own or buy the kind in the cans at the grocery.

Welcome to Huntsvegas.

I always like to make my own. Not the hardest thing in the world. Just find some raw green peanuts and boil the heck out of them with lots of salt. Sometimes you can find the peanuts at walmart but I assume its a seasonal thing. Maybe try a local farmers market.

Thanks Lamar. I may give it a try over the 4th weekend. I live in Gurley so I may explore Scottsboro area for a local "curb market".

Great thread. Following with interest.

I've not found boiled peanuts or green peanuts here. I've also not looked too hard though.

Not sure if you are serious or sarcastic but will give the benefit of the doubt. I have a weird obsession with boiled peanuts and would like to know where the good ones are in Huntsville. My only memory of my Grandfather was him giving me boiled peanuts fresh from his big cast iron pot at his curb market in Montevallo. He died when I was 5 and I still have the memory of his pride giving me those peanuts.

I plan to try making them myself and will let you know how it turns out.

You can find the green ones at Publix sometimes. Also Publix has raw ones in the produce section with roasted ones. You do have to boil them for 24hrs or so. I use a crock pot and put it in the garage so the house doesn't smell.
