Need to repair a laptop, I know the hard drive is good, the screen does not come on.

Anyone used or know of a good quick company/person/friend they have used before?

Thanks in advance.

Have you hooked it up to an external monitor to make sure you have video from the laptop?

Computer repair is a dying profession with computer prices so low. I have used geek squad at Best Buy because I could find a "mom n pop". They were good but a bit high priced in my opinion.

May's Computers at the corner of East Limestone Road and Capshaw Road. I have had very good dealings with them.

How old is the laptop? What are some of the specs?

Thanks all, it's an HP and it is the mother board and evidently they solder everything, so you cannot just replace the video card......so pay to have someone replace everything for the same price as a new....

So, I bought a Toshiba today....appreaciate all responses...

Well, this is a good thing. That at least means it's only your LCD screen, but depending on the make and model of the laptop, some screens cost more than the value of the computer itself, therefore, it's cheaper to buy a new one.
