Nothing stated in that thread about why Mamma's is closed.

Just another sandwich shop. This town is saturated with them and their location wasn't exactly the greatest. I didn't even know it was there until about 6 months ago so part of their problem may have been poor marketing. Maybe they put too much weight on their history in Auburn and didn't realize Huntsville is full of Engineer transplants that have never been to Auburn. Heck, I have never been to Auburn and didn't know about Momma Goldburgs until I read their history in the news article. However, I know people that eat lunch at the Boaz location because it is convenient to a lot of the larger businesses there.

a large number of engineers (and other disciplines)in Huntsville graduated from Auburn. They knew where it was.
Sounds like a landlord issue if true that Shanes is moving to that spot.

Bad location....needed to be in the Madison area IMO . Momma G's is the BOMB. Its my favorite place in AU. I'm so sad

And its not just another sandwich shop....I have yet to find anywhere around here that steams those sandwiches to such a delicious goodness as Momma's. And where else can you get nachos like that?

I wasn't ever a fan of Momma Goldberg's when I attended AU. It is just another sandwich shop.

I ate there once. Thought it was overpriced for what it was. I'm not a sandwich guy myself, but I typically go to Newks or Jason's Deli when I'm wanting one. This town does have way too many sandwich shops. Honestly, Arby's makes a really good sandwich.
