another 1985 icestorm flashback: at that time, WTAK was AM 1000 only. No FM yet. They had to go off the air at sundown every night (remember their signoff, be very careful gringo!). But during emergencies, they could stay on and broadcast full power during the night. We sat there for days/nights listening to WTAK on a 9v transistor radio. One night they took calls asking for folks listening out of state. The callers made me realize how far the signal was reaching. Kind of fun stuff for newlyweds in their first house in Harvest.

I think the storm might have been punishment from God for Alabama legalizing same sex marriage.

He must be only mildly miffed then. As far as biblical punishments go, this is nothin'.

There is nothing new under the sun.
God has seen this before...

But back to the storm, and the original topic, what do you think about this winter?
Another round of messy weather coming in Thursday morning. More time off of work and school. More milk and bread stockpiled in my spare fridge.

I think it's a pain in the butt to work from home with kids running around. I dread it.

Yeah, I thought that was our life, too.
Guess who gets to keep the grandkids when school's out?
