What coffee shops do you recommend in the Huntsville/Madison area?

I am a bit of a coffee snob - I don't like over roasted coffee (Starbucks).

This is an easy one...

Kaffeeklatsch to buy your own to brew at home. Awesome selection of coffee and tea from all over the world, they roast it right there in their own antique roaster. Downtown on Jefferson St.

Old Towne Coffee for a true coffee shop. It on Pratt in the Old Town/Five Points area. Very nice neighborhood coffee shop.

We like the Kaffeeklatch - It is a great place to talk about coffee. My husband and have enjoyed a few different roasts and buy green beans to roast at home. As far as a good coffee shop to go to in the evening in Madison/Monrovia I only have a list of places to avoid.

^^^Try Old Towne, that is the only place I can really recommend. However, a new gelato/pizza/coffee shop just opened on North Side Square downtown. They buy their coffee from the Kaffeeklatch. Also, their gelato is great and the pizza is AWESOME.

There is a new shop in NE Madison County on Winchester Road called Flint River Coffee company. They have a good selection of beans for sale from around the world as well as fresh brewed coffee. Check them out.

Another vote for Old Towne. There's Angel's Island Coffee on S. Memorial (south of Airport Rd) which is decent. Also in the South HSV area is Coffee Tree on Bailey Cove across from Grissom.

Honestly, I've been disappointed by all the local shops: Old Towne, Sam & Greggs (not really coffee shop I guess), Cafe Domain in Hampton Cove, Kaffeeklatch...

I think Starbucks is better and I've always been a small shop guy.

We go to Kenny Mangoes on Hughs Road in Madison. It is very unique and not the typical "Starbucks" atmosphere. The staff is super friendly and it is relaxing to sit and work there.

I THINK this is the same guy that opened the Elk River Coffee Company in Fayetteville a few years ago...if so, I would agree with you that it's good...the one up here is.

Never was a fan of Kenny Mango's when it was on the square. Thought the coffee was bitter, at times tasted stale. They did have a great staff, though, and Kenny is a nice guy, but, just didn't like the product.

Don't know how good it is, I don't drink coffee, but Brueggers Bagels has quite a deal.

Buy a bottomless mug for $129 and get free refills all year. Chris says the french roast is good(guess what he got for Christmas

They have a location in Madison on Hughes Rd and in Jones Valley on Cecil Ashburn...kiddie corner from Target.
