Will be staying with some friends in the northeast and want to give them a gift basket with some Huntsville and/or Alabama related items. Planning on some local bbq sauce/rub and some local beer. Any other good suggestions we can find in the Huntsville area? Thanks!

The gift shop at the botanical gardens probably has a number of items that would be of interest.

BBQ Sauce from your favorite BBQ restaurant. I bought both the white and a bottle red BBQ sauce. Wrapped them in clear cellophane together and tied a bow on top with curling ribbon. It made a very cute gift. It was a big hit for our out of town friends.

Don't forget some Pizzelle's chocolates from Lowe Mill! I've been to two "world famous" chocolatiers in the past year (one in New York and the other in Estonia) and both, while very good, pale in comparison to Pizzelle's IMO. I've been officially spoiled.
