The owners seem to be handling their PR much better than before.

IMO, an eight foot fence is OK (and City Ordinances should be enacted to set 8' as a max height - currently there is no height limit), however the owners definition of 'decorative fence' may be different than mine (4x4s and chicken wire don't complement the house). I still believe that the City erred in granting a right of way waiver / license to the Kildare owners, but the licensing terms the Kildare owners propose are reasonable and I hope the City agrees.

I think eight feet should be OK too. I thought the chicken wire was temporary until they had the fence completed?

I guess what bothers me about this fence issue is, the owner keeps saying he is staging the house to be an event venue for weddings, parties, and such. He claims he needs the fence for safety for the venue.

Who would want to have their wedding behind a giant chicken wire fence?! I mean, if it is that unsafe that there has to be a giant fence surrounding the property, do you really want to invite your guest to come to this place.

No matter how great the house looks, the fence is just a distraction.

I thought I heard Dwight Wright say on a news video interview that the fence was to protect his "restoration efforts".

And I think the chicken wire was temporary until he had an agreement with the city in place and then it would be all wood construction.

And the exterior of that home could look a little better than it does now in my opinion.

But I agree with you, I don't think anyone would want to have a wedding there with that fence. Honestly, I can't really see having a wedding there anyway.

Default Threatened WITHOUT reason!

My husband and I drove by there to admire the beauty and history of the mansion. We love old architecture. We were screamed at and threatened by some man on the property! We assumed it was the owner. We couldn’t believe it! We weren’t on the property. We weren’t taking pictures. We weren’t doing anything but admiring a historic landmark.
Is the owner Schizophrenic or something???
