Need FFL recommendations. Not necessary looking for the lowest fee but trust and reliable a must. Personal experiences a major plus. PM me if more comfortable.

FFL = Federal Firearms License.

The FFL holder is authorized by law to do legal paper work & call in to do background check when doing firearm transfer such as buying & selling.

Athens Guns will do $0 FFL tranfers, used him many times, even if it was a drive from Madison when I lived there. He's a vet and I liked using him for FFL transfers.

Good luck.

That was the 2nd place I was going to recommend, but couldn't recall the company name. I know the owner's name is Malcolm. Never used him but he has a good rep on Arfcom. No question, he's far more convenient than NW Athens.

Thanks guys. I will check out these places. I know there's a lot of FFLs around but it's always better getting long timers' recommendations.

Maybe Santa will give me late Christmas presents :

Athens Guns used to be my go-to place since I used to work in Athens, but Shannon closed up shop a couple months ago.

As others have mentioned, I know use Malcolm at Silent Industries...

Well crap. I went back and spent a little more time on their bookface page and found this:

Athens Guns

October 1 ·

Just turned off the "Open" sign for the last time.
Gentlemen, it has been an honor.

Also found this:

Athens Guns

October 4 ·

While talking to a friend about the shop closing he said, "Maybe you should have charged for transfers".
When I decided over eight years ago to open a gun store I said I would never charge for transfers and I never did.
In eight years we "gave away" over $250,000 in transfers but we got back something better. We got to meet customers that lived over 50 miles from the shop. We got to save gun buyers one more "tax" on their right to buy a firearm. We even got to annoy a few stores that charged $50 or more for a service that cost them nothing.
Along the way our customers showed their gratitude by buying ammo, leaving tips, or buying me Diet Cokes. One customer even gave us some local honey.
No I don't regret our free transfer policy. Not one bit."
