It is a transcript of the news report video. Of course, the reporter (Joel Porter) obviously wrote the piece and then went to the location and taped the clip for the news. It definitely reads very simplistic. I think they still forget that most people do not watch the live newscast anymore, they read the articles from links like the one in the previous post. I typically just read the transcript real quick rather than taking time to watch the videos.

I quit watching "news" for a few reasons. The local news is full of inaccurate information, it is often twisted for sensualization to try to grab ratings and worst of all, it seems most reporters are now incompetent.

National news is even worse because they are often twisting facts in order to try to push their personal views and political agendas. It would be nice to have a national news channel that simply reported the news as the facts dictate and leave all the hyperbole out.

most are more interested in making news than reporting it.
and of course al. is the worst. They are required to have 10 al football articles every day. D-
WHNT -the all about us channel. They can do a good job if they would get out of their own way. Excellent weather. B-
WAFF- Pretty solid but try to sensationalize everything, part of being part of a chain. Lost some excellent staff, probably should lose some more. Excellent weather coverage also. A-
WAAY -good and getting better, think they try harder and seem more local oriented. B+
WZDX- Also a solid job, very good weather. Local more of their focus. Does WAAY still do some of their stuff?B
worst news lingo
First on the scene..nobody cares, just report the news
Not seen on any other station, big deal I'm watching this one.
See our report at 6 or 10. If its news show it now dumb asses.

Interesting. I had no idea that was even legal.

Isn't rum made from sugar cane? Is that grown around here?

Molasses or sugar cane juice. Several different distilleries in Alabama.

And there is a couple just north of the border, one in Fayetteville, the other in Kelso. Plus the one that's a little further north, I forget it's name, John, Jay, Jordan, something like that.

Yeah, I've heard of that one but I can't place the name either. Even smelled it driving through on a cool, foggy morning. Just didn't know distilleries existed in Alabama, except out in the woods. It's surprising, actually, given our sometimes archaic laws.
