Looks like they may be the real deal. I've often wondered if there is a real paint correction detailer in town, and it looks like there is.

As someone that has always done his on machine polishing, Hornbuckle and Insane Paint Auto Detailing in BHM are the only two shops I'd let ever touch a vehicle of mine.

I do all my own detailing and paint correction, but I third the comments about Hornbuckle. I'm actually tempted to take one of my vehicles to them...the older I get, the less time I want to spend detailing my own vehicles.

I'm the same way ... I have clay bars, polishes, waxes, random orbit buffer ... just not the energy anymore to do it. I have a crystal red Vette I might take up to them. It's in really good shape, just needs a few swirl marks removed. Might try the ceramic coating too.

Question...has anyone had a "clear bra" i.e. protective film applied to their car front end to protect against rock chips, etc? I just got a new car and I'm a bit paranoid right now about it, and was doing some research. Is there anyone around here that does a quality job? I have researched one that was recommended but would have to go to Nashville to do it. The Lexus dealership does the 3M but haven't found much about it. Any recommendations from all you car enthusiasts is appreciated

Is that what a ceramic coating is? Is that a paint protectant??

Yes, the ceramic coating is supposed to last a couple of years. Pictures I've seen of quality jobs really look good.

On the Corvette forum, several posters have the clear bra (by different manufacturers) and all seem to like it. You might check with the detailer recommended in this thread to see if they do them. Wouldn't be surprised if they do.

What kind of car do you have?

Freddie Louis did a nice job both on clear coating and window tinting. A bit pricey but excellent quality.

Got to do it twice actually, after a deer rearranged things a bit. The clear coat won't protect against those.

Lexus RX350.

I'm leary of Lexus of HSV....so if anyone has any feedback I'd love to hear it. I HATE the dealership part of it but have never heard anything about the service department so it makes me nervous letting them put something on the body of the vehicle. Really don't want to have to travel to Nashville for service though. The two films I have read are the best are Xpel and Suntek, no one seems to use the 3M Lexus offers so I'm wondering if its paying for something from the service department that's not worth the money. I can't find anywhere around here that does the Xpel or Suntek.

I am assuming this is who you are talking about? http://freddielouis.com/ I am going to need to have my windows tinted soon as well so I may just have it all done at once if possible.
