I have been to Morton's in Orlando - it was excellent, but since I'm originally from New Orleans and Ruth's Chris has fantastic gumbo, Ruth's wins for me every time. Steak v Steak - both excellent. Sides - etc, both great.

Gumbo vs some soup: GUMBO!!

I agree with FCEddie about the gumbo. Yum! Glad you enjoyed your special meal at Ruth's Chris. I'm looking forward to our next visit there.

If you like Japanese food, the best restaurant I've found in HSV is Mikawa. It's located off 72, across from Madison Sq. Mall and sort of behind a car dealership (I think it's a Saturn dealer.) As I understand, it was started by & for Japanese businessmen working in the area and has a very loyal following. My only complaint is that the lunch hours are only 11 a.m. - 1:15 p.m., then it's closed until dinner starting at 5:00 p.m. They have a website - Mikawarestaurant - dot - com - where you can check out the menu and specials.

Try Grille 29 in Providence...off of University Drive in Huntsville...Just a few blocks south of Madison. Great Food...gourmet....coming from CA, I think this is about as good as it gets. Like it as well as Ruth Chris Steak House.
