They could turn it into apartments or something and glue the marble slabs back on .... Besides, the concept I've seen for the new City Hall building is nothing better than ugly.
The how"s and whys have been well documented on the City blog. The building is unsafe out of code and unrepairable. The marble is brittle and cracked, unusable. Small pieces could be used for some type of artwork maybe in the new City Hall. What is being demolished mow is the Annex only. The main building will come down later.

The Hampton is a different location (corner of Clinton and Monroe)
Supposedly because which level or brand of hotel chosen can change due to budgets, needs etc.
This hotel at one time was thought to be a Residence Inn.

This is where the old aquatic center is sitting now which will be demolished. Construction should begin in a few months.
Which will be the Tallest Hotel Downtown. Can’t wait!

uhh about that...maybe, once you get around 10 floors construction costs go way up. Even over 5 requires
more stable structure. The AC hotel under construction is a very well built building.
