Memorial Pkwy needs an expansion just like Houston's Katy Freeway once did! Bldgs along be uplifted on stilts! Then feeder rds relocate to under the uplifted bldgs! Where there isn't any feeder rds, complete feeder rds be constructed! The current feeder rds become part of the Widened Memorial Pkwy! Today the Memorial Pkwy is a Mini 4 Ln Bumper To Bumper 7 Days A Week! The widening must be to an average of 6 and 8 lns, with an underground HOV Ln! Also feeder rds be 6 and 8 lns! Then, Memorial Pkwy becomes North Alabama's Widest Expressway!

I'm not exactly sure how you'd pull that off. Sounds quite expensive, even more than what's being spent in B'ham at the moment.

The Houston metro is about 10 times the size of Huntsville-Decatur, and it has seen tremdous growth in the past 60 or so years, along with the rest of Texas. Growth is nice, but I'm not sure I'd ever want to see this area that large.
