looks like in May. Also nonstops to Orlando continue. Frontier is a moving target but HSV is fortunate
to have them so hopefully the region will continue to support them. Wish they would add more frequency or new destinations. They are currently expanding in Miami and Newark. At present the latest schedule shows no service to Birmingham or Mobile this coming spring/summer. They release their schedules in phases so would think those cities to show up soon but who knows.
Fly HSV for more and better service when possible.

I do hope people support the discount airlines coming to HSV. If they are used, more will come and the legacy carriers must compete. This all results in lower fares, more convenience and more service in/out of HSV. I believe, based on my admittedly limited experience, fares are dropping with both Frontier and Silver in town.

Frontier seems to be doing pretty well (whether it's "well" by their standards, I don't know).

According to the Bureau of Transportation statistics, Frontier carried something over 77,000 passengers (sum of enplaned and deplaned passengers) through September 2019; I don't remember when they started service here, but I don't think that's for an entire 12 month period. That's a 5.65% market share. Not bad for an airline that only has a couple of flights to each city per week.

Silver Airlines wasn't mentioned in the stats I saw, and I suppose fell under the "Other" category, which had 334,000 passengers (several different airlines, both scheduled and unscheduled if I read it right).

I still think Southwest would do well here, and maybe they'll be added eventually. HSV has seen a 25% increase in passenger traffic in the past 12 months. They are the heaviest traveled airline in Birmingham, slightly better than Delta with a 28.3% share. I believe they could just as well here with a decent schedule.

With the growth in passenger traffic in/out of HSV (and the phenomenal growth of N AL), it would make sense for Southwest to utilize HSV.

Southwest is not really a discount airline anymore and their fares can be close to the same as Delta, American or United.
Upgrades in aircraft and more frequent service from especially United and American has come to HSV over the past year. Hopefully this will continue, would love to see Alaska enter our market (they are in Nashville)
possibly Spirit, they are like Frontier, ultra low cost (everything is extra).
