Just because they have experience, doesn't preclude there being problems. Look, Artemis-1 is still sitting on the pad and certainly not for lack of knowledge and experience.

I just laugh because with all of these developments popping up now it seems like the people that moved here because Huntsville was a progressing city have a problem with the growth.

If you don't like it, you're going to have to move, because Huntsville is not going to stop growing and developing.

I've even heard complaints about the warehouses being built in the area. You like your packages delivered in a day or 2 don't you?

Exactly. I watched the Q&A with the developers and none of those parties with grievances sounded very intelligent.

One guy asked the developers if they had done any soil analysis lol. No, they are just gonna throw a bunch of homes on an unstable topography and hope it all works out.

If those people are the "blue bloods" of Huntsville like someone put it- I would say, the standards here are very low.

Yep, that's always been a pet peeve of mine. People come in, then want to lock the doors to the area. It's not gonna happen.

There are several Huntsville families who made fortunes during Huntsville's explosive growth in the '50s and
60s that's continued throu today. In a sense, they and their businesses "lucked" into their money, and they're not necessarily PhDs. Living in a mansion doesn't necessarily translate to ethereal IQs.

The houses in the Heritage on Monte Sano are nice homes but not mansions. No one in this area would consider that neighborhood the “blue bloods” of Huntsville. The blue blood areas are firmly in Twickenham, Old Town, Blossomwood and Jones Valley.

That neighborhood has had significant issues with runoff over the years. It is a valid concern of theirs that development uphill could worsen the issue. However, if the neighborhood is designed properly with those downhill in mind, it could actually alleviate the problem. I understand the skepticism from the home owners that the developers would volunteer to put money towards fixing that issue. Developers can’t underestimate the amount of rain we can get here in a short period of time when considering slope development. Storms can dump multiple inches of rain in a few hours and have multiple of those events within a few days.

I heard the lawsuit over the development on Monte Sano was dismissed by the judge yesterday. Both the city and developer had followed the requirements for a new development so it was dismissed for no merit.

Pretty obvious people on Monte Sano want it to remain as it always has. And that's understandable, I love it up there. But this type of thing is the price you pay for big growth.

Yes and I get it but then again, the ones that filed this lawsuit were fine with their development and houses being built. I am sure those that already had homes in the area would rather that development not been built either. That is how it goes though.

At the end of the day. If the adjoining property owners didn't want the development to happen they should have purchased the land.
