Whenever I go up there to visit, I never have a home cooked meal. We go out to a different place every night.

Oh I know! I just accept the fact that I'll gain weight on a visit. Of course, having Greek family members who are always trying to feed you doesn't help in a city where there is such outstanding food!

Is it in Alabama where they serve something called Kool-ickles ... basically pickles in Koolaid??? I thought I saw that on a food network show.

But chicago food, nothing like it! I wish you well in finding something comparable.

Hmmm, Im hungry. Where should I eat tonight? Ginos? Lou Malnatis? Connies? Augustinos? Aurelios? Portillos? Gene n' Judes? Oh, the agony of having to choose.
I went to High School with Phil Auelio. I did find a similar pizza in Dubuque Ia.

We also had a Alfs Pub, Anellos, ect, ect. I would miss the food here if I moved back. Also would not trade year around weather here for food there. I need to diet anyway.

When my parents lived there they would bring a cooler of Coucho Itailian beef. Awesome. Walmart use to have a different brand here which was like up north, but no more.

Wal-Mart in Savannah has a frozen italian beef from a company in Chicago and we used to eat that a lot. Not nearly as good as Portillos but edible. I looked for it here but didn't see it.

Just pizza and beef. I love our BBQ and home cooked southern food here. I am alway on the hunt for pizza and Italian beef. I may have to see about getting some beef shipped in.
