My family goes to Madison City Schools and uses a private music program. My 6 year old plays piano with both hands, transposes and composes music and can sing while playing. My 3 year old also plays with one hand and simultaneously sings. She is also doing some basic composition.
The Madison public schools are fine, you can augment with private programs that suit your specific art/music needs and desires without the exorbitant cost of Randolph. My 2c.

I don't mind that someone chooses private school, public school, or homeschooling. I do mind when someone talks about how awful my choice is, and how they'd NEVER send their child there. I've gotten that from parochial, private, and home schoolers, as well as parents of children assigned to certain "choice" public schools.
Guess it's a human nature thing. That's why it's good to THINK before you post.

I apologize if I came across like that, but I was simply trying to make the point that Public schools in Madison (and some areas of Huntsville) are fine and there is no reason to go to Randolph. There are a pleathora of private art/music programs in the area that can compensate if that is the area of concern.

Well, you've explained your rationale more than once, but it does not support the conclusion "there is no reason to go to Randolph".
You are obviously happy with your education choice, but it is ridiculous to state that anyone who makes a different choice is operating outside of reason.
