Hi I heard Verizon Wireless was opening up a new call center in Huntsville, AL and would be employing up to 1300 people. Anyone have any more info on this and when they will begin hiring? My family and I are looking to relocate to Huntsville/Madison and this may be a ray of hope for employment. My degree is in communications, and I'm looking for a good position. Any info or feedback would be greatly appreciated!!

I believe they just had ground breaking for new building in Research Park (between Huntsville and Madison). They will probably be hiring by late summer or fall. Don't know any other details. Lots of employment opportunities in near future with Arsenal related jobs.

The center is already starting to post positions internally for applicants looking to relocate(and the relocation package is quite nice so be prepared for a lot of transplants coming to the area) the training classes will start during the summer, but the center is slated for open around September. But yes, there will be a lot of openings and opportunities. Continue to keep tabs at www.verizonwireless.com/careers.

Check the email I sent you and look for the link to news articles in Local Links. You might find Verizon and much more in the press links...

You asked about schools, too. All local school links are there for you.
