For the past week it seems, there are extremely long backups leading into redstone arsenal..........

It's annoying, because I get off on the exit right before it, the exit that will enable you to get on the next freeway,w here you can get off on exit13 to get to zirdt/shelton...

Anyone know why there are long redstone lines now?? new security policies or something??

makes an annoying drive to work, more annoying

You should see the long lines and snail traffic on Research Park coming OUT of RSA in the evening (5.30), so it goes both ways - there must be a bottleneck somewhere down the road or just the "road work" fixtures and the 35-45-35-55 etc posted speed limits along the way (every few hundred yards) or the many sharp exits (Bradford E/W, HSV E/W) where people just prudently slow down to take the exit and keep the slow speed on the ramp to the other end when merging in traffic.

They put several rows of speed bumps at one gate (Gate 9, I think). Another gate is closed for upgrades sending traffic to another.

All military bases are slowly going through mandatory changes that will eventually speed entry. I think you're seeing the growing pains associated with the upgrades.

It will be interesting when VBIII opens up. Even though it hasn't been finished yet, it is already 100% occupied.

Gate 8 is closed, so I'm sure it's overflow traffic.

I know they're doing some work on the gate that goes out to the 231 parkway (don't remember if that's gate 8 or gate 1?), so we've been getting a lot of over flow traffic coming to gate 9 (565 & 255).
