In Decatur:
Alabama Jubilee Hot-air Balloon Classic, this year on May 23-24 at Point Mallard
Point Mallard Aquatic Park (with America's first wave pool)
The playground at Wilson Morgan Park
Playground at Rhodes Ferry Park, on the Tennessee River
If you have a boat or can rent one, take them out on the river
The brand-new all-accessible playground at Delano Park (just opened Sunday!), in addition to the beautiful Rose Garden in the same park.
The Carnegie Arts Center has a new exhibit called "Arts Aflutter." It is giant, artist-designed metal butterflies, planted all over the downtown in both commercial and residential areas. They'll be up through the end of August.
The library - any library. Read books, and attend story times.
A simple walk in your own neighborhood.A great opportunity to look at nature, meet and talk to neighbors, teach about safety.

*Sigh.* Now I wish my kids were little again.
Thanks for asking!

Couldn't find any - as I wanted to post a link or something more "official" than my transcript of the flier I received in the email (exceeds the limit for C-D attachments).

I'd also like to throw Harmony Park Safari as a really fun activity with the kids. My 7 year old loves the place.
