Hey, how come nobody gives me any props for generating such strong emotion in the first place?

Which/what area(s)? Avoid Autumn Branch in MAdison. Bad builder and a couple questionable neighbors. Oh, and I now understand why there are HOAs, so that people can't replace the grass in the yard with all bark and slap a huge dolphin fountian in the middle of it, complete with spot lighting.

there are some nice subdivisions with large lots in the New Market, AL area (technically New Market, but really mostly south east of the old town of New Market)

the range in the subdivisions off Winchester (past Homer Nance and off Homer Nance) starts right at 100K or or so and goes up to 300K+ (in pockets).

that's where we purchased a home when moving here in December, and we like it ( we don't have an HOA, but some of the subdivisions do have them -- I don't care for them too much since the average deed restrictions around our way are reasonable without getting all hung up on crazy stuff )

Breland Homes is building in several neighborhoods. Lanier Lakes, River Landing (very nice), Towne Lakes (all Madison schools) and Ashbury in Madison. They have a couple of other subdivisions, but these are the ones I have seen myself. Great product in your price range. All brick, 35 year roof. Price per square foot is amazing, in my opinion. I'd definitely give them a look.
Keep in mind, the on site agent represents the seller, so be sure to get your agent to take you, so you will have your own representation, which is always best.

Not sure if this belongs in this thread or perhaps the "Helpful Links..." thread or even the "photos of Huntsville thread" but it is pretty neat and the captions of the photos are informative:

Huntsville Neighborhoods

The organizer, Jean Brandau, does a good job of running this site.

You could put it in the Helpful Links thread, since it's stickied. I dunno about her site...I find it less that complete, with plenty of broken links. Heck, she didn't even spell "Decatur" correctly, much less add a link.

Is she a real person??

Stop it! I can't give you any more rep till I spread it around!
