I don't remember whether it was in the 80's or 90's. There was a restaurant chain that had two locations in Huntsville. One was on University Drive while the other was on Memorial Parkway. They did very well after they opened. Both closed within two years.

The only thing I remember is that I took my parents to the University Drive location when they were visiting from out of town. I remember the waiter asking if we wanted deserts after our meals. We declined but he brought apple pie a la mode anyways and did not charge us.

Does anyone remember these restaurants?

Maybe O'Charlie's? I don't think they've been closed that long though.

Was it a local place or a chain?

No. I remember they emphasized a family and home atmosphere.

Quincy's Family Steakhouse and their famous yeast rolls had a location on University and one on Airport Rd. The food was excellent, but it was a fairly new concept and they were open for many years.

If not the Red Carpet Lounge, then maybe the dance bar in the Carriage Inn at Jordan Lane and University Drive.
