Can anyone recommend a boat dock builder in the Athens--Wheeler Lake area?

Unless Harry Chickpea knows something, you'll probably get better results asking your neighbors.
You do know there is quite a bit of paperwork involving the U.S. Corps of Engineers? It takes a while, from what I understand.

Good luck!

That's great! But almost nobody on here lives on the river, from what I can tell. I do know one person who has built a dock recently. I can DM you the name if you'd like.

Well, good. That's your best bet. I'm SO envious! I'd LOVE to live on the main channel and watch the river traffic go by. Won't ever happen though - DH likes being close to neighbors.

I am torn between being in town (love the convenience, walk to work) and being out at the river. Our place on the Elk is much quieter than the Tennessee, but that isn't bad, either. Love the quiet, dark nights. I guess that is why we haven't sold it, although with all of the use we get out of it lately (none), it wouldn't be a bad thing to do. I figure I just wouldn't ever be able to replace it.

Thanks everyone. I'll have to try all your sugestions. We just finished building our house and ended up way over budget so I guess we'll have to wait on the boat dock anyway. I'm so mad---did everything possible to stay within budget but I guess builders think if you have saved on things you pick out and keep within all your allowances that just gives them more $$ to waste somewhere else. Can you tell I'm mad..? Spittin nails right now..
