Is it just me or do there appear to be more police pulling people over around here lately? Within a 2-3hr time frame yesterday afternoon/evening I must have seen 12 people pulled over between Research Park and Wall-Triana.

There is a big push state wide to slow people down. What you saw might be part of that effort.

Yup "Take back the streets" or something -- they issued more than 4,000 tickets since Saturday

I saw six HPD cruisers in single file at Sutton and 431 (heading east) yesterday evening. No emergency indications. Not sure what they were doing. Nothing east of there except homes, two schools, and softball fields and a supermarket, thinking maybe they were doing some community service or something at a school but not at that hour.

Yesterday I saw this grey SUV, tinted windows, the blue, epileptic seizure-trigger lights in the back window (on the inside), you know the "undercover" type car, pulled 2 drivers over. The first time was in the morning, eastbound on I565, second time in the evening on the Oakwood ramp going westbound on I565. I cannot say the make or model of the SUV - Im clueless when it comes to cars . Looked American with a boxy back (Tahoe?)
I think the police are cruising along traffic and turn on the blue lights when fishing for violators.

That would be as easy as bears catching salmon during the season. I have cars fly by me when I was doing a 80 on I-565.

I must admit, both Huntsville and Madison have some pretty fancy undercover cruisers. I've seen several varieties. Even California highway patrol doesn't have as fancy of cruiser as around here.
