Who has the energy to take this one?

Anyone seen a Smokehouse at another Westin?

"...will be replaced in November by an upscale steak and barbecue restaurant called Smokehouse, operated by the Westin hotel next door, Bridge Street and Westin managers say."

... and thank Gawd for different folks with different strokes. Life would be too boring if we all have the same taste.

I would like someone to bring more HEALTHY focused restaurants to Huntsville. Even something like the Boston Market, El Pollo Loco, Baja Fish Grill, etc., franchised/ low-cost food for tightward engineers are fine.

Boston Market came and went a few years ago.

In addition to income and population, businesses are also at the mercy of life style. Entertainment is also a tough sell here. With a significant % of the population being young families, folks spend a lot of free time at the little league park, dance classes,... rather than say as spectators at a pro/semi-pro sporting event and to get Johnny to his game, Suzy to her gym means less time for leisurly dining out.

Default The last few hours of Ketchup in Huntsville...

City-Data.com Readers:

Wow! Thank you for your comments, feedback, emails, and visits over the past few days as we announced the closing of Ketchup.

I apologize for not adding another post since my last one a few days ago... but we have been absolutely slammed. Going into this morning, since Monday Lunch, we served 2,153 guests. Already today we've done 300+ for lunch today.

Whereas most restaurants would not do anything special when announcing "bad" news like their business closing (for whatever reason), we instead chose to make our closing of Ketchup into a celebration. Most restaurants probably would not have done anything special and once the food was gone it was gone. We feel differently and infact had deliveries come twice as often as we normally did throughout the week. This week at Ketchup was not as much about making money--but rather celebrating our concept. While we are sad to close our Huntsville locations our two remaining Ketchup restaurants in Los Angeles and Washington DC are doing great. We should also have our first international location of Ketchup opening early next year in Saudi Arabia.

While I don't want to talk about other "chain" restaurants or start a "rumor" about what's coming next, from an operator in Huntsville it has astonished me over the past week at the number of people who have come to Ketchup for this first time this week (or those who have never been to Dolce or better yet those that have NEVER been to Bridge Street Town Centre before... keep in mind it has been open over 20+ months so far). As someone who recently moved from Atlanta and would drive an hour from one side of the city to another for a great meal, it amazes me how many people won't drive from Madison to Jone's Valley for a meal at Chef's Table or vice versa.

With that said, we are about to run out of almost everything... so we gonna spice things up... starting NOW through the end of tonight (or whenever the food runs out) we are offering an ALL YOU CAN EAT BUFFET at Ketchup in Huntsville for only $10 per person. You can't beat that Huntsville! Oh, and don't worry... we've got plenty of Alcohol to wash it down with!!!

Regards,
Sam Rubin
General Manager, Dolce and Ketchup
