As far as rants go, this one really leaves a lot to be desired. Put some heart into it.

You mean end of Whitesburg (where it meets South Memorial)?
Be thankful it's progressing, should have driven that way beginning 5 yrs ago >> the orange barrels were on the road, occasionally moved and the ad-hoc lanes created, then I gave up the drive thru the area and found a job in CRP.
Now, if they could finish what they started on North Parkway &72 out to TN (same circa 2004 orange barrels on the roadway, occasionally changing place, and more recently this summer some big pipes have been left on the contruction site for future use - we might get lucky if it's just a road widening rather than a more complex overpass work).

It's actually an overpass for both Whitesburg/Cameron and Weatherly Road. Hey, it could be worse. Think about the folks who travel North Parkway every day. The overpasses at Max Luther, Sparkman, and Mastin Lake have barely broke ground over the last 5 years.

Yeah, I was right on both sites: 5 years gone by, more (or less) to come. (Stoically) Enjoy the ride!

I read something about that a few weeks ago. There was some funding switcheroo that the county and the state worked, and supposedly they now have the funds to start construction on North Parkway by the first of next year. It was going to have to be deferred in order to build the Rideout Road / Highway 53 overpass, but by rearranging funding, now it looks like both projects are covered.
