This has got to be the worst allergy season in the last 10 years, it just has to be. Thankfully, I have not had a sinus infection yet. Anyone else finding this year to be particularly hard?

Also, I'm curious about any new residents to the area. Have you noticed any changes or allergic reactions since moving here, say from California, etc.?

I had what I thought was a prolonged, mild cold last year around this time. I had never had allergies in my life. My doctor was fairly certain I had mild allergies.

My son has, it has been horrible this year, worse than ever!

His DR said because of the long winter and cold weather we had into March, it delayed the pollen, so it is all coming out at once much heavier than usual. He also said that grass pollens will probably hit us hard as well.

We are having to adjust my kiddo's allergy meds because they just are not effective this year. Poor thing!

I used to get hit hard, but I am actually not getting affected badly this year. I have been drinking a lot more water than I used to drink. Water is supposed to be a natural antihistamine.

I usually need to take Zyrtec in order to function, but for some reason I have not needed it at all this season. Very weird considering this is supposedly one of the worst allergy seasons on record...

I had a sinus infection for nearly 6 months last year - the secondary effect of respiratory allergies. After several rounds of (failed) antibiotics I only got rid of it by religiously taking Claritin and sinus rinsing 3 times a day.

This year, the SECOND I started feeling it - early March - I started taking Claritin. There are days (like the past few) where I still feel it threatening me even behind the protection of my antihistamine, so I sinus rinse on those days.

So I feel it, but I'm keeping it under control for the most part.
