Hubby and I FINALLY finished our vacation plans last night.
We leave Sunday 8/26 overnighting in St Augustine. Then 4 days in Ft Lauderdale. Back north to overnight in Savannah and Labor Day weekend in Myrtle Beach.

Did I miss any hurricane spots??? Oh yea... we live near Virginia Beach.
The hotels were booked this morning and THEN I read the headlines.
It has been such a quiet summer that I kinda forgot about all that hurricane stuff.

DH really wanted to go to Las Vegas......

Tropical Storm Dean is out there moving towards the US May hit Florida or the Carolinas or may curve out to sea. I guess they will know more about his path as he gets closer.

Figures my first year in Myrtle Beach

True, it's too far out to say with any certainty where Dean will end up. Could track up north along the E. Coast, or follow a more westerly track. One of the best sites for checking its progress can be found here:

I changed my trip this a.m., was headed to Denver this weekend (I'm in FL) but now it's changed to Labor Day. My petsitter is on vacation and wouldn't be available if we had bad weather and I couldn't get back in (or worse, it hit us while I was gone). At least with them here Labor Day, if a storm hits while I'm in CO, I know my pet will be safe. Yet another reason I book all my summer airfare on Southwest....no rescheduling fee
