It seems like ever since the late 1990s, every Atlantic hurricane season has been predicted to be above average, barring a strong El Niño or something like that. I know we're in an active phase, but that should end in the next ten years or so. Also, in fairness, many of the past seasons have been quite a bit above average, at least in the number of named storms, but not always hurricanes or major hurricanes. Do you think this trend of predicting active seasons every year will continue? If so, how worthwhile do you find it to be?

I wonder what they pay the people who make predictions on the upcoming hurricane seasons? If their pay scale is based on accuracy, they would be dumpster-diving in order to survive.
