Not a big hurricane but disruptive in its ways.

Oaiu, Maui, Big Island never seen a Tropical system in the time we've been keeping track (which hasn't been long)

Only Kuai island has.

Such a tiny Hurricane barely making status. Julio more impressive behind it. Waves could get to 15-20 feet in Hawaii. FEMA is out there.

Pacific on fire this year.

Julio's track looks like it will miss Hawaii

Thanks Cambium. Always good to have you on watch. Getting a few live reports from my families on Oahu and Big Island. Everyone still remembers the rainstorm a few years back where more than 4 feet of rain fell on parts of the islands in just a few days. Battening down the hatches!

Thanks. Keep us posted and I hope your friends and families stay safe.

That's the thing.. I'm sure they dealt with heavy rains and wind before.

The strongest winds are only near the center of the storm. So most of island might just feel 30-60mph which isn't too bad IMO for Palms. I could be wrong.

Surge and waves only affect coast. Hard to say its a lot of hype because if many bad things happen then it was better to hype and prepare .

Some tweets from Henry Margusity whos a meteo at accuweather

https://twitter.com/HenryMargusity

"A 72 mph wind gust just occurred at Oahu Forest, elevation 2293 ft."

"The center has to first move over 7000 to 9000 ft mountain range before moving back into the ocean. That should weaken it more."

"Looks like the center of Iselle will pop back out into the ocean just south of Papa within two hours."
