I've always had a fascination with hurricanes. Can you guys recommend any books, textbooks and/or websites that I can check out to (eventually) get started? I feel that I'd learn best (and at a decent pace) if I were to self-teach myself rather than in a classroom, per-say. And I suppose learning about thunderstorms wouldn't hurt either since they are interconnected.

well there is a game that can help you prepare.
Stop Disasters
just chose the hurricane version.
Also this game is good a teaching you the different concepts although the computer voice is quite annoying.

chicagogeorge, I am not sure how that helps me. I was trying to gather information from more of a technically standpoint. But regardless, that infographic was an interesting read though!
