We need to be ready to help in the coming days and weeks. It looks like landfall will occur very soon. The only good thing here is the height of the Sierra Madre mountains will weaken the storm rapidly as it moves inland. In the US we are used to these things running inland 100-400 miles and maintaining tropical characteristics, that mountain range will prevent that from happening in Mexico.
A little presumtious to say their "Katrina". For one, I doubt even Mexico could engineer a place as un-ready for disaster as New Orleans was, being below sea level and held together by some rugged levys. Further, let's see how their people react to panic and bedlam. I doubt it could be as bad as New Orleans.

All that said, it's certainly a major disaster coming their way.

Remember the tweet I posted about some people who got mistakenly evacuated from a resort to a convention center?

Looks like one of them has posted a YouTube

(either them or some other poor soul who ended up there)

They are saying (locally) this is coming in this evening. That tide time is scary.

President of Mexico states that if there were a category 6, Patricia would be a 6. Goes on to assure people that the nation is prepared to face... blah, blah, blah

Si existiera la categoría 6, "Patricia" lo sería: EPN | El Universal

It's in Spanish. I had hoped for some information on evacuations and at least some generalities at least about mobilizing military and other responses. Kind of disappointing to say the least.

This is just me thinking to myself... But I don't think there are any evacuations.
