Say we develop the technology to stop, dissipate or redirect hurricanes away from Florida(and USA) how much higher would house prices be? I know the obvious, there wouldnt be any hurricane insurance costs. There also wouldnt be any fear of hurricanes. If I had to guess, id say houses will be 1.5 times the price they are now and not far behind some parts of CA.

Ahhhh!! To dream the dream of a child. Why not dream of a land without taxes, or greedy politicians, or the need for insurance. Hey!!! What about everything you want as free. Time to get off the heavy meds and wake up. Life sucks, then you kick off. Make the best with what you have, spend all you can to enjoy yourself, and take the time to relax.

labrat-I agree with your philosophy, but NAH is just pondering, & I think it's quite an interesting question! Maybe you haven't been on the boards enough to get to know him, but he's our resident "housing talk" nut!
NAH-I agree-without the threat of hurricanes, the housing value would be MUCH higher! (ain't that wild?! ) In fact, I think we might even out do Cali!!!

Yes but we're still flat, horribly hot, and have to deal with the rising ocean. Without hurricanes the coral reefs will all be dead and we will all be roasting more of the year as the lack of hurricanes will allow the sea to get hotter and hotter. I am glad we get hurriacnes, it spices up an otherwise dull place to live. In fact I hope that we get more in the future.

If hurricanes, at least keep them away from Florida! Yes we will have a problem if we dont put an end to global warming then much of Florida will ultimately be underwater!
