Tropical Depression 17E formed Saturday September 17, 2016. Early Sunday morning was upgraded to Tropical Storm Paine.

As of 8pmEST Monday September 19, 2016:

Winds 90mph, moving NNW 15mph, pressure 979mb.

Paine has moved too far north and is now reaching waters less then 26 degrees Celsius (78.8 Fahrenheit) with some shear as well. Hurricanes cannot thrive over these 'cooler' waters. Rapid weakening expected shortly.

Landfall expected into Baja California around Wednesday as a Depression or weakening Tropical Storm. Will help possibly spread rains into portions of the SW US, possibly including southern California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah and New Mexico.
