Water temps are 1-4 degrees (F) above normal along the path. Look at its path history though. It's churning the cooler waters underneath and cooling off the sea surface! That little blue blob is where it had stalled
If you are within 60 miles from the beaches north of West Palm you will get hurricane force winds. 160 miles from the beaches Tropical Storm winds.

Ex-army airborne and never considered a wimp but ... YOU GUYS ARE SCARING THE ISHT OUTTA ME!
Hope you're satisfied.
By the way, what are the chances of him not making that right turn off the Carolinas, choosing instead to follow a path similar to his grandmother Hazel in 1954???

It's not a storm we see everyday so it's truly impressive to see. Not sure where you are!! North Carolina is out of the danger zone with this.
Being only 2 days away from the Carolinas that right turn IS happening. But rest assure, it shouldn't be near the coast like Florida or Georgia so you can be 10 miles away from the coast and be no big deal. But don't take my word, listen to your local mets. If it stays near the SC coast more then you'll feel it if you're within 50 miles from the beaches.
For those on the coast of Florida & Georiga like my cousins.... Just think about Sandys devastation. That was a Cat 1. Matthew is a Cat 4 BEAST. I Dont get why some are risking it and staying?? Just go 100 miles west for a day. Come back tomorrow if they can. I fear we'll be seeing some bad photos.
Great summary to Those who choose to remain do so at their own peril, risking their lives. God speed to you. People forget the details like Transformers blowing up or wires ripped off a home causing fires in the middle of a major hurricane lasting hours on end nobody there to help.
Just for inland for a day. Sleep in your car if you have to.

Thanks for all of our posts, links, pictures, etc.
What counties is it supposed to hit in Florida & Georgia?
After it hits Florida & Georgia is it still supposed to go up the East Coast? What do you think will happen at that point?

I hope people evacuate those areas.
Thanks.
All counties along the coast will be affected. The eye itself I'm not sure.
Not going up East coast. This was confirmed 2 days ago by models and remains true since.
I hope they evacuate too along FL and GA coasts. Just drive west couple hours. Hopefully folks boarded up their windows
