Jose is still around.. He finally stopped and even had a westward movement last night.. Just will meander about until Maria kicks him out.


About 150 miles off Nantucket and Winds are gusting over 40mph on Nantucket this morning.

DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 500 AM AST (0900 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Jose was
located near latitude 39.8 North, longitude 67.8 West. Jose is
moving toward the east near 2 mph (4 km/h). Jose is expected to
meander off the coast of southeast New England for the next several
days.

Maximum sustained winds are near 60 mph (95 km/h) with higher gusts.
Gradual weakening is forecast during the next 48 h. Jose is
forecast to become post-tropical by Friday.

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 230 miles (370 km)
from the center. A gust to 48 mph (78 km/h) was recently reported
at the Nantucket Airport. An unofficial observing site in Vineyard
Haven recently reported a sustained wind of 38 mph (61 km/h) and a
gust to 49 mph (80 km/h).

The estimated minimum central pressure is 982 mb (29.00 inches).

I'm out in the sound, waiting for one of those bands of clear sky to show up.. waves are decent, wind out of the EastNorthEast..

Supposed to head to Chatham Friday night for a weekend away. Looks like Jose will still be hanging around. Forcast shows it just sitting there for at least another day.


In Mainland MA, still some pretty decent gusts. Mostly clouds, and occasional mists/sprinkles. A few downed branches, but not much excitement going on really.


If Jose had stalled maybe 100 miles to the NW, we would have had 2-3 days worth of heavy rain.
