Interesting Fujiwhara effect some models put out this afternoon between Jose and future Maria sending them both spinning around each other into the NE coast. A little too early to say if they'll even meet though.

Channel 2 news just said "waves of 50 ft expected" on Jones beach... so the fear mongering is still happening.

BS..no way. You must have misheard. Wave heights are forecast 12-15 feet at peak Tuesday. Even the most unreliable fear, hype mongering media nut would not report this. I don't buy it. My guess is they said 15 feet.

50 feet?? lol I would say maybe out over the open Atlantic near Jose but its only a Cat 1. Can a weak Hurricane cause 50 foot waves with a pressure of 973mb? Is it a full moon? Too lazy to even check the wave height forecasts but 15 feet sounds reasonable.
