This system will first make landfall on Mindanao Island Philippines some time between Thursday night and Friday morning.

By Sunday, it is predicted that the typhoon will cross southern Palawan and northern Malaysia. Heavy flooding is expected since the area is already saturated by heavy rains dropped by Typhoon Kai-Tak, or "Urduja".

The death toll from Kai-Tak in the Philippines reached 46 in Eastern Visayas on Tuesday, according to the Manila Times.

Death toll in low 100s in Philippines and over 1 million moved in Vietnam before Vinta hit.

The storm has killed at least 164 people in the Southeast Asian country, sweeping away residents and leaving communities buried in mud, authorities said Monday.
An additional 171 people are missing, Philippine National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) spokeswoman Mina Marasigan told a news conference.
