6Jun18 - 2aPT/5aET Invest 91E became Tropical Depression 2E last night, now has become Tropical Storm Aletta. Winds 45mph, moving W 7mph, pressure 1000mb. No threat to land but Clarion Island may want to keep an eye on it, looks for now to stay south of Socorro Island. May become a hurricane in short order. Currently about 370 miles SSW of Manzanillo, Mexico.

Official storm stats of East Pacific named storms are issued by the US National Hurricane Center (NHC) based in Miami, FL here: https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/?epac

Cone map (where storm center could be in time, nothing else and does not represent storm size, S/H do represent tropical Storm or Hurricane in time):

I think Aletta is the one I saw on the Euro that gets absorbed by the western trough next week? Should bring some good rains to SouthWest

I'm wondering if that's the next storm its picking up as I beleive that one looks to head up into the Baja region but I haven't looked for what happens to Aletta after its eventual demise, and there's a storm in the West Pacific that may recurve what remains of it towards Alaska which may affect US weather later on as well.

8Jun18 - 2aPT/5aET Winds 120mph, moving WNW 6mph, pressure 957mb. Why you never say never...rapid intensification overnight - Cat3 hurricane now. But shear and cooler waters ahead by Saturday into Sunday so has about 24hours to continue to intensify before weakens.
