10Aug18 11aHST/2pPDT/5pEDT - Estimated winds 140mph(220km/h), moving WNW 16mph(26km/h), pressure 947mb. Storm has re-intensified into a Cat4! Weakening trend should start back again soon with wind shear and cooler waters ahead.

Tropical Storm Watch or Hurricane Watch may be posted soon for the islands well NW of the main Hawaii island chain of Midway Atoll, Kure Atoll and Papahanaumokuakea Marine National Monument areas. The main Hawaiian islands are perfectly fine.

Hurricane force winds (74mph+) extend up to only 35miles(55km) from storm center, Tropical Storm force winds (39mph+) extend up to 110miles(175km).

12Aug18 8aHST/11aPDT/2pEDT - Winds 85mph(140km/h), moving NW 16mph(26km/h), pressure 984mb. Weakening continues. Tropical Storm Watch was issued previously for Kure Atoll, Midway Atoll and waterway between Midway Atoll and Pearl & Hermes Atoll, and Papahanaumokuakea Marine National Monument from Lisianski Island to Pearl and Hermes Atoll (Watch means Tropical Storm conditions (winds 39mph+) are possible within 48hours or less). Hurricane force winds only go out 15miles (30km) from storm center, Tropical Storm force 100 (155km). High wind shear over system weakening it.
