26Aug18 2aPDT/5aEDT(25Aug 11pHST): Estimated winds 40mph(65km/h), moving W 8mph(13km/h), pressure 1004mb. Pulling away slowly, and barely classified as a Tropical Storm.

Per protocol, with no Tropical Watches/Warnings that means storm stat updates are only issued by the Hurricane Center every 6hours at 5 & 11am/pm HST/EDT (2&8am/pmPDT).

27Aug18 5aHST/8aPDT/11aEDT: Estimated winds 40mph(65km/h), moving W 8mph(13km/h), pressure 1004mb. Had just enough of a burst of storms to bring estimate back to minimum to be called a Tropical Storm again, but headed away from the main Hawaiian islands.

28Aug18 2aPDT/5aEDT (27Aug 11pHST): Estimated winds 35mph(55km/h), moving W 7mph(11km/h), pressure 1007mb. Back down to Tropical Depression, Hurricane Center says likely to become just a remnant Low and absorbed by another nearby weather system soon.

Pending review/calibration, two rain gauges put Lane into 2nd place for wettest Tropical system in US history at 52.02in (Mountain View), and 58.80in (NWS didn't say where). It appears Harvey (2017) will retain its 60.58in top spot.
