3Sept18 145pCDT/245pEDT eye not as well defined on radar as it was just a little while ago. Small storms can quickly increase/decrease in speed. Upper Low just to the SW of Gordon may be hurting it as well. We'll see what it does later but any quick development looks to be on hold for the moment it would appear.

And some graphics courtesy NWS New Orleans, high impacts coming in just over 24hours, and don't forget, hours of winds 40+mph and saturated ground is enough to start seeing scattered power outages and downed trees.

3Sept18 4pCDT/5pEDT: Estimated winds 50mph(85km/h), moving WNW 17mph(28km/h), pressure 1006mb. Holding steady for the time being.

Changes:
-Expected to landfall as a hurricane (Tuesday evening)
-Hurricane Warning issued from mouth of Pearl River to AL/FL border.
-Arrival time of Tropical Storm winds (39+mph) has moved up to sooner some Tuesday evening.
-Storm Surge Warning extended eastward to Dauphin Island AL.
-Tropical Storm Warning discontinued for FL Keys, Golden Beach to Chokoloskee (including FL Bay).
-Some voluntary evacuations for storm surge have been announced, consult local authorities/news for details.

Storm Surge (highest near and to the east where the storm center come ashore):
-Shell Beach to Dauphin Island, AL: 3-5ft
-Navarre, FL to Dauphin Island, AL (including Mobile Bay): 2-4ft
-Shell Beach to mouth of Mississippi River: 2-4ft
-Mouth of Mississippi River to LA/TX border: 1+2ft

Already in the gulf and moving away fast. Would love to see is stall and then move northeast and give me 10" of rain. But i never get lucky.

NHC has it getting to a Cat 1 for landfall.


Current temps and Radar. Looks like 2 systems in the gulf. lol

Only 110 miles south of me and not a twig is moving. Once it gets a beam of me i hope it throws some rain my way.

Yup, many forget how close you have to be to really feel effects especially with a compact storm.
