Hrrr has consistently showed this... so have other models. It’s being taken very lightly... oh well. NC State didn’t cancel classes today either...god bless if it happens
One little observation from watching the Weather Channel yesterday: They were telling everybody to put on hard hats and cover up with mattresses in some of the areas approached by the eyewall. But they never wear hard hats! It is only a matter of time until one of their reporters is hit in the head by a flying object. They will start off under cover; but they always have to get in the wind so they can show the viewers the wind strength. It is hard to see and avoid everything that might come at you with these high winds. Even small objects could potentially cause severe physical damage. Besides; they would be showing the public what they are preaching by wearing protective headwear and maybe even protective clothing.
This has been showing since yesterday and the nws has been ignoring it... KAVL only recently made mention of it. Those winds reach Raleigh during Thursday rush hour! You want to tell me that 70+ winds (20less than what is shown, how overdone can it be, whats 90 vs. 70)? Won’t cause a solid few wrecks combined with intense downpours... my ass. The nws will eat **** if this comes to fruition. I feel bad for em being in a tight spot like this.
