And, No, I can not imagine 14 hours of this...beyond belief...what lasts this long???
And on a low sea level island!!!!! Oh man.
Like I said I am giving $$ to the best place.

I'm so outta touch I just looked this up, cuz wasn't sure. Boy, are they gonna need help.

The Bahamas never have been part of the United States.
It is an independent country that is part of the Commonwealth, having gained its
independence from Britain in 1973.

Looks as though increasing wind shear by central / N FL and northward, proximity to land & pull of approaching trough will help keep that in check. NHC’s steadily weakening trend through this week matches model guidance as well.

Reminds me of the Jarrell Tornado. That was near stationary too and where a big tornado usually goes through a section of town in 20-30 seconds it lingered and took minutes to pass. Part of what caused the obscene destruction in that town.

This is not as intense as a major tornado, but also several hours rather than minutes.

The folks in the Bahamas have been dealing with major hurricane forced winds plus flooding without letting up for over a day straight in a storm that refuses to move. That's terrifying. Can only imagine the damage after Dorian moves north.
