Yeah the rain shield is still about 15 miles to my east southeast. If the slight westerly motion continues, though, it'll enter my neck of the woods overnight.

Tornado threat currently greatest around Cape Fear / Wilmington area this morning. This will continue anywhere bands are coming onshore mainly.

Cat 3 Hurricane Dorian causing some damage at the coast of Carolinas! Tornados as well this morning
Rain reaching further inland now.

I saw some reports of 50-70mph gusts

MINIMUM CENTRAL PRESSURE...957 MB...28.26 INCHES


Maximum sustained winds are near 115 mph (185 km/h) with higher
gusts. Dorian is a category 3 hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson
Hurricane Wind Scale. Some fluctuations in intensity are expected
this morning, followed by slow weakening through Saturday.
However, Dorian is expected to remain a hurricane for the next few
days.

Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 60 miles (95 km) from the
center, and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 195
miles (315 km). The National Weather Service Forecast Office in
Charleston, South Carolina, recently reported a wind gust to 68 mph
(109 km/h) at the Charleston International Airport.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 957 mb (28.26 inches).

Charleston, SC USGS tidal gauge prediction lowered about 1ft from last nights forecast for the next high tide. Likely due to storm being further offshore. Still running about 3ft or so above normal low tide. After next upcoming high tide storm center will have passed Charleston and winds will be pushing water out.

Yup, A Cat 3 less than 100 miles off the coast is still not close enough for sustained hurricane winds. There still might be a couple areas that may get a gust that high but near the coast.. Most areas staying under 60mph so far.

It slung in super heated air and dew points for my area. Low of 84 in Tampa and dews over 79f. No rain for 7 days or more.
