Mon 23Sept 8pEDT/AST,9pADT: Winds 35mph(55km/h), moving NNW 13mph(20km/h), pressure 1008mb. Weakens to Tropical Depression. Although too far out to know what will happen, overall threat of a storm into US has gone down today with less model support.

Tue 24Sept 8pEDT/AST,9pADT: Winds 45mph(75km/h), moving NE 10mph(16km/h), pressure 1003mb. Has become better organized today but still not great with a stretched out center and multiple vortices all wanting to be the real Karen. After Puerto Rico will have less wind shear and warm waters to feed off of but also likely dry air around, then wind shear may pick back up this weekend. Karen expected to stall and meander around somewhere between Puerto Rico & Bermuda late this week / weekend. Not much model support for it surviving a trip over to the US mainland now but you know how this can go so we'll watch it just in case. Heavy rains enveloping Puerto Rico this evening with several Flash Flood warnings in effect.

Additional 1-2inch, isolated 8in rain possible in trailing bands Puerto Rico / Virgin Islands.
